Alicia Briones Lamas

Alicia Briones Lamas, 72, a resident of Moses Lake, joined her Heavenly Father on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, surrounded by family. Viewing will be from 9 to noon on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 at Kayser’s Chapel. On Monday, Jan. 30, 2017 at the Moses Lake Alliance Church, 1100 N. Grape Dr., viewing will begin at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral services at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Pioneer Memorial Gardens. She was born March 15, 1944, in the state of Texas, the daughter of Pascual and Inozencia Briones. She was the second oldest out of seven.

She is preceded in death by both parents and eldest sister, Angela Meza. She is survived by her husband, Olegario Lamas; her siblings Susie Field, Rosa Luis, Pascual Briones Jr., Flora Jimenez and Joe Briones; her children Mary Cassiano and husband Joe Cassiano III, Zoilo Lamas, Irma Lamas and Alfonso Lamas and her three grandchildren Joseph IV, Maquela and Joshua Cassiano.

Alicia moved to Washington state in her early twenties, where she met her husband. Alicia enjoyed spending her time caring for her family – her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. One of her favorite pastimes was spending time with her sisters. She was a strong women with a lively heart. When spending time with others, she was not known for her words, but more for her solidarity. She had a strong faith in the Lord.

As she says it best, “Que Diós te bendiga.”
