Prep roundup: Ephrata wrestling falls to Selah

SELAH — Ephrata won five matches by fall, but fell on the road to Selah 47-36.

Drew Anderson (195), Efrain Bedolla (285), Sammy Flores (106), Clay Johns (113) and Mac Laird (182) all pinned their respective opponents.

The Tigers led 24-6 early before losing seven matches in a row. The Vikings charged ahead with four straight pins from weights 138 to 160 pounds.

Third-ranked Aaron Pimentel capped the run with a 7-0 victory over Cole Spencer in the 170-pound bout.

Ephrata continues its packed week at East Valley today, the second of four duals in five days.

Warden beats Kiona-Benton, Wahluke

MATTAWA — Warden handled Kiona-Benton and Wahluke in a double dual.

The Cougars beat the Bears 54-8, losing their only two matches of the night. The Cougars forfeited twice against the Warriors and won 75-12.

“We just wrestled really well,” head coach Brent Cox said. “They looked really good. You can tell we're getting close to postseason.”

GRANDVIEW — Othello girls basketball lost on the road to Grandview 67-30.

The Huskies dropped to 1-12 in league play on the season.
