Marilyn B. Jackson
March 2, 1940 – January 18, 2017
Marilyn B. Jackson, 76, passed away after a long battle with post-polio on Jan. 18, 2017. Marilyn was born on March 2, 1940 in Faulkton, S.D. to Alfred and Pearl Banghart. She spent her childhood growing up in Belle Fourche and Pierre, S.D. with her three brothers and three sisters.
After graduation she married Gerald Bunney and they had three children. In the late ’60s they relocated to Moses Lake, Wash. They both began working for the U & I Sugar Plant.
Gerald passed away in 1977 from health issues. Marilyn showed great strength as she continued to raise her three children as a widow. She was a hard worker and did all she could to provide for her family. After her kids were grown, she worked at a local business where she met her second husband, Larry Jackson. Together they spent many happy years living life. They shared a love that many admired and dreamed of one day having. Marilyn loved her family; she felt great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and then her great grandchildren. Larry and Marilyn were very loving and affectionate. They were a wonderful example to their family.
Sadly in 2010 Marilyn lost Larry to illness. Just a short year later she too became ill. For five years she fought an unbelievable fight when most would have given up. She showed all of us the strength she had for life. She will forever be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children Ray and Jo Bunney of Spokane, Deanna and Kirk Newkirk of Moses Lake and Darren Bunney of Moses Lake, her six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Beverly and Leon Tennant, Betty and Irv Christianson, Al and Judy Banghart and Linda and Gary Vermundson.
