Failure to yield leaves five injured
OTHELLO — A failure to yield right of way collision on Jan. 12 at the intersection of Highway 17 and Cunningham Road resulted in injury to five people from Moses Lake.
The late morning crash involved two vehicles. Drugs and alcohol were not a factor, the Washington State Patrol said, and all persons involved were properly restrained.
The accident occurred when a black 1999 Jeep Cherokee, eastbound on Cunningham, drove into the path of a 2008 Silver Dodge Avenger, southbound on 17.
According to the State Patrol, the driver of the Cherokee was Betty Jean Pruitt, 78, of Othello. She was unhurt. Her car was removed by Oscar’s Towing.
The driver of the Avenger was Charles L. Kassman, 58, of Moses Lake. Injured, he was taken by ambulance to the Othello Community Hospital. The vehicle was removed by Oscar’s.
Also injured and transported to Othello Community were four passengers in the Avenger, all of Moses Lake. They were Vicky B Jensen, 52; Virgilio Bonifacio, 62; Jocelyn Bonifacio, 41; and Cage Bonifacio, 14.
The WSP cited Pruitt for “failure to yield right of way.”
