May 1, 1950 – January 3, 2017

Rebecca Ann Peters, 66, went home to be with the Lord on the afternoon of Jan. 3, 2017 in Houston, Texas.

Rebecca was born on May 1, 1950 to Charlie and Freda (Hochstatter) Peters. She was the first baby girl born in the hospital in Odessa, Wash. The family moved several times throughout Eastern Washington and finally settled on the family farm between Moses Lake and Warden in 1960. She attended school and graduated from Moses Lake High School class of 1968. She graduated from Big Bend Community College in 1971 and from Eastern Washington University in 1976.

She worked in Moses Lake for many years at Sunstrand Electronics/Extel Manufacturing. In 2006 she felt the Lord calling her to Houston, Texas. While there she encouraged and ministered to many people in Houston and around the world through the internet. She also worked full time at Hunting Energy Services in Houston.

She had the memory of an elephant as she remembered all the birthdays, anniversaries and even remembered the ages of everyone in her large family. She was faithful in sending birthday cards to everyone in the family each year. She taught pre-school Sunday school for many years and was very active in her church until her passing.

She was seventh of nine children. She is survived by her four brothers Paul (Carol), David (Faith), Sam (Marlis) and Dan, and four sisters Mari Williams, Martha (Theodore) Spurbeck, Debby (Lance) Smith and Jana (Scott) Mahn and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews and many cousins. She particularly had many fond memories growing up with her cousins Donna Hamer, Luanne Vail and Patricia Crimmins as well as many close friends. She will be greatly missed by us all.

There will be a memorial service for Rebecca on Jan. 28, 2017 at 1 p.m. at New Beginnings Christian Center, 318 W. Northshore Dr. in Moses Lake.
