“We’re looking for a mixture of full-time and part-time people, depending on previous experience,” Sportsman's Warehouse spokeswoman Bobbi Jo Harris said.

The Utah-based company has been in the process of making tenant improvements to the existing space at the Moses Lake Town Center. Harris said crews are nearing completion and are in the electrical stages of the process. Sportsman's Warehouse, which also has stores in Wenatchee, Kennewick and Spokane in eastern Washington, expects to begin bringing in its merchandise on Feb. 9 with the grand opening scheduled on Feb. 23.

“We have a standard set of merchandise we have for each market,” Harris said. “If we find that we are low in a certain item or don’t have enough of something, we’ll make adjustments as we find out more about the market needs.”

Moses Lake is the third largest lake in the state of Washington and is a destination for not only hunters and fishermen, but hikers, campers, archers, off-road and boating enthusiasts.

The new location is Moses Lake is one of four new stores scheduled to open in 2017, which also includes new retail operations in Wilmington, N.C., Morgantown, Wv., and Cedar City, Utah. The locations in North Carolina and West Virginia are the first Sportsman's Warehouse stores in their respective states. Both the Cedar City, Utah and Moses Lake, Wash. locations will be the ninth Sportsman's Warehouse store in their respective states.

According to Sportsman's Warehouse CEO John Schaefer, the Wilmington and Morgantown stores will be a standard format operations and the Cedar City and Moses Lake locations will be smaller format stores.

“We are excited to enter two new states with the locations in Wilmington and Morgantown. These locations have a large user base that is currently under served through existing retailers,” Schaefer said. “Our expansion in Utah and Washington increases our presence throughout the western United States in a market we know very well.”

With these planned openings Sportsman's Warehouse will operate 79 stores in 22 states.

“To further expand in existing states and entry into two new states signifies our continued strength in the west and continued expansion east in markets with great potential,” Schaefer said. “Each of these areas has a strong outdoor heritage, and we plan to become an active, contributing partner in each of these great communities.”

Sportsman's Warehouse stores feature an extensive selection of hunting, fishing and camping gear, as well as a wide range of apparel and footwear. As with all Sportsman's Warehouse locations, the Moses Lake store will also feature instruction, seminars and special events related to outdoor activities.
