Big Bend women struggle at North Idaho

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — Big Bend was outscored 38-19 and lost on the road to North Idaho 73-49.

The Vikings trailed by five points at halftime before the offense became inconsistent over the next 20 minutes. No player reached double figures scoring with Maddie Williams totaling a team-high nine points in 13 minutes off the bench. Callie Gronning had eight points and Maryah Tipping added seven.

North Idaho outmatched Big Bend with balanced scoring. Giavanna Sorn led the Cardinals with 16 points and Lana Berg had 15.

The loss dropped Big Bend to 2-3 in the NWAC East, good for sixth place.

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — The third-ranked Runnin' Vikes fell short at No. 1 North Idaho 88-75.

Big Bend has now lost two straight after starting NWAC East play 3-0.

The Cardinals led 48-38 at halftime. It was Big Bend's lowest scoring output since a Dec. 28 game against San Bernadino.
