1 injured in collision near Ephrata

EPHRATA - One person was injured in a two-vehicle collision near Ephrata Thursday.

About 4:05 p.m. Adan Nava, 26, of Ephrata, was driving a 1998 Honda Civic south on state Route 283, about five miles south of Ephrata, and slowed down to make a left turn. Nava’s vehicle was struck in the rear bumper by a 2012 Freightliner semi-truck driven by Harwinder Gadhri, 42, of Surrey, British Columbia, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Nava was injured and transported to Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata for treatment. Gadhri and Nava’s passenger, an 11-month-old boy, were not injured in the collision. Gadhri’s semi sustained reportable damages and was driven from the scene. Nava’s Civic sustained reportable damages and was towed from the scene by a private party.

Nava was cited for following too close, according to the patrol.
