Gladys Marie (Teslow) Sharp

Gladys Marie (Teslow) Sharp, 90, passed away on Jan. 1, 2017 in Bellevue, Wash. She was born on July 20, 1926 at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Wash. She was the daughter of Jenny C. (Olson) Teslow and Edward E. Teslow and one of six siblings.
Gladys lived in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle until her family moved to Grand Coulee, Wash. when she was seven years old. She spent her childhood in Grand Coulee and attended Grand Coulee High School.
Gladys married William W. Sharp (Bill) of Lewistown, Mont. on July 3, 1947 in Wilbur, Wash. and the couple made their first home in Grand Coulee. They moved to Moses Lake, Wash. in 1948 where she resided until 2008. She then moved to Spokane Valley, Wash. to be with her daughter Kathy and husband John. She moved to Seattle in 2013.
Gladys was mainly a stay-at-home mom but also worked at several places in Moses Lake. Throughout her life there were many family gatherings in Grand Coulee and Moses Lake. She enjoyed camping, fishing with the family and golfing with Bill. Gladys was a great cook and loved telling jokes and stories. She had a great relationship with her kids and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After Bill’s death in 1993 she was active and traveled with the Moses Lake Senior Center. She traveled to China, Bermuda, Atlantic City and vacationed in Hawaii with her sister Millie. She was also an avid bowler.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jenny and Ed Teslow of Grand Coulee and by her sisters and brother Mildred Johnson (Don, deceased) of Ellensburg, Washington, Verna Waters (Jim deceased) of Seattle, Bob Teslow (Betty living) of Moses Lake and nephew Eddie Teslow (Clifford and Sandy living) of Moses Lake.
Survivors include her brother Clifford Teslow (Sandy) of Moses Lake and sister Elsie (Tiny) Rawley (Stan deceased) of Coulee Dam. She raised four children: David Sharp (Pam) of Kennewick, Chris Anstrom of Maple Valley, Kathy Branda (John) of Spokane Valley and Brenda Chervenak (Dave) of Preston.
Her grandchildren include Jaime Sharp (Mandy) of Hailey, Idaho, Erik Sharp of Kennewick, Brandon Anstrom of Maple Valley, Collin Anstrom (Andrea) of Maple Valley, Tracy Bishop Stendal (Torfin) of Seattle and Kendra Bishop Cawley (Brian) of Seattle.
Her great-grandchildren include Jaiman and Story Sharp of Hailey, Idaho, Isa Sharp of Tri-Cities, Annelie and Arvid Stendal of Seattle, Theo Cawley of Seattle and Bodhi Anstrom of Maple Valley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of her life scheduled at a later date for friends and family.
