MOSES LAKE — Due to large snow drifts sweeping across the Columbia Basin overnight, several roads have been closed as state crews race to clear the snow.
The Washington State Department of Transportation decided to close state Route 261 in both directions from Interstate 90, near Ritzville, to state Route 26, near Washtucna, last night about 8:45 p.m. As of 9:40 a.m. the WSDOT’s website states the highway is still closed in both directions.
The decision was also made last night to shut down I-90 in both directions from Vantage to Kittitas. The WSDOT estimates I-90 will be reopened sometime around noon.
