Woman injured in car-truck collision
OTHELLO — An Othello woman was injured on Dec. 21 when the car she was driving collided with a truck on Highway 17 three miles south of Moses Lake.
Clara M. Jimenez, 20, was transported by ambulance to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.
According to the Washington State Patrol, drugs and alcohol were not a factor, and both persons involved were employing proper safety restraints.
The WSP reported that Jimenez was south on 17 driving a black 2000 Ford Focus. A truck in front of her, driven by David Gonsalez, 52, of Warden, slowed for a right turn onto Road 2 Southeast, and the Jimenez vehicle struck the Gonsalez vehicle from behind.
Gonsalez was not injured. His truck sustained reportable damage and was impounded by Agrifix Towing. The Focus was also towed by Agrifix.
The State Patrol cited Jimenez for “speed to fast for conditions.”
