Two young ladies seek Othello DYW crown
OTHELLO — The Othello Distinguished Young Woman program is less than a month away, and Kaiden Quigley and Hannah Christensen are anxiously awaiting their chance to shine before the community.
The DYW program will be held on Saturday, March 11, at McFarland Middle School. All of the candidates for DYW are juniors.
Kaiden is the daughter of Heather and Mark Quigley. She plans to attend Dixie State University in Utah, studying to become a lawyer. She will do a lyrical hip-hop dance during the talent portion of the program.
Kaiden wants to be Othello’s DYW because she would like to be a role model for younger girls and make the community proud.
“Othello has given me so much, and I believe that with the help of the DYW program, I can give something back,” she said.
Hannah’s parents are Mindy and Tom Christensen. She plans to attend Brigham Young University Idaho, where she will study cosmetology and business management. She will perform a theatrical monologue as her talent.
“I want to be Othello’s DYW because I want to be more involved in our wonderful community and be able to be an advocate for all the other young women in our town,” Hannah said. “I want to serve our amazing people and make a difference.”
