Shooting suspect's truck recovered in Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE — A vehicle belonging to a man who is believed to have shot a 50-year-old man in Federal Way over the weekend was reportedly recovered Tuesday night in Moses Lake. The suspect was taken into custody Wednesday night in Kent.

Ivan Alfonso Sosa Aquinaga, 23, was arrested Wednesday night near a horse barn in Kent in connection with a weekend shooting and kidnapping. Sosa Aquinaga allegedly shot his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend’s father early Sunday morning in Federal Way, according to the News Tribune.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries. He is reportedly expected to survive. Sosa Aquinaga allegedly kidnapped his girlfriend and forced her to tell him where her ex-boyfriend lives, eventually dropping her off in Sunnyside.

Sosa Aquinaga’s GMC pickup truck was reportedly recovered about 10:25 p.m. Tuesday night on North Stratford Road in Moses Lake. The vehicle was impounded for the Federal Way Police Department, according to police records.

Sosa Aquinaga was taken into custody about 10:30 p.m. by the Federal Way Police Department thanks to an anonymous tip that led police to the suspect’s whereabouts. He was reportedly found to be in possession of the gun that is believed to have been used in Sunday morning's shooting, the News Tribune reported.
