COULEE CITY — A joint effort between deputies from Lincoln and Grant counties led the recovery of two stolen vehicles at a Coulee City residence Wednesday morning.

Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reportedly gathered information that Bernard A. Brill, 55, of Coulee City, was possibly involved in a series of thefts near the town of Wilbur, in Lincoln County. Lincoln County deputies contacted the Grant County Sheriff’s Office in response and asked for assistance, as Brill resides in Coulee City, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

Lincoln and Grant County deputies, the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team (TRT), and Grant County Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (INET) detectives served a search warrant at Brill’s residence in the 100 block of North First Street in Coulee City Wednesday morning.

Authorities reportedly recovered two stolen vehicles on Brill’s property and he was booked into the Grant County Jail for suspicion of two counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and two counts of possession of stolen property.

“We’re always happy to team up with Lincoln County Sheriff Wade Magers and his deputies,” Sheriff Tom Jones said. “It’s not unusual for our agencies to have to deal with some of the same criminals, and this arrest benefits all residents of Grant and Lincoln counties.”
