GEORGE — Three children from Ephrata were transported to a local hospital as a precaution after a car and semi-truck collided Monday near George.

About 9:40 a.m. Breanna Elliott, 38, of Ephrata, was driving a 2012 Honda Acura west on Interstate 90, about 10 miles west of George, and reportedly lost control of her vehicle and crossed in front of a 2006 Peterbilt semi-truck with a 53-foot trailer driven by Keith Day, 41, of Colville. The semi then reportedly rear-ended the Honda, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Elliott’s passengers, two 14-year-old girls and an 11-year-old boy, all from Ephrata, were transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for precautionary check-ups. Elliott and Day were not injured. The Honda sustained reportable damages and was impounded. The semi also sustained reportable damages, but was not towed from the scene.

Elliott was cited for speeding too fast for the conditions, according to the patrol.
