Thank you to police officer for reaching out

| February 2, 2017 2:00 AM

Today I’m writing to give the Moses Lake Police Department some great credit and good praises on a job of reaching out to all the community. Now I see what they mean when they say all cops are not bad cops.

Shopping at Walmart last Thursday, a police officer from Moses Lake came near me and started a friendly conversation with me. This police officer was a real and true officer. He should be promoted for his friendly service.

Being African-American, I was so proud of this officer for starting a friendly conversation with me. I wasn’t a threat to this officer; I became an unknown friend to this good officer. He reached out to me and showed me he wanted to be my friend and not my enemy.

When I get my driver’s license I’m going to apply to be a Moses Lake police officer. It’s a great department to work for. The officers are professional and they reach out to all the community including African-Americans.

I don’t know your name, officer, but thank you for reaching out and starting a friendly conversation with me. Myself, I’m guilty of not responding well to your reaching out. I guess at one point I believed the lies saying all cops are bad. But now I see the truth. This Moses Lake police officer showed me not all cops are bad cops. Thank you so much, officer, for opening my blind eyes.
