Prep roundup: Moses Lake boys basketball holds off Lynnwood

WENATCHEE — Moses Lake used balanced scoring to hold off a late charge from Lynnwood (5-3) to win 68-59.

The Chiefs (3-3) led 58-42 before a few turnovers closed the gap.

Zach Phillips scored a team-high 26 points and Michael Byers added nine.

“We played pretty solid, for the most part,” head coach John Hohman said. “They responded well after the half.

The Chiefs shot a blistering 63 percent from the field, stretching out a three-point halftime lead in the process.

Cory Kunjara, Evan McLean, Dax Lindgren, Kyle Karstetter and Logan Sperline chipped in between five and eight points.

Moses Lake plays in Wenatchee today, 11 a.m., against Bethel. Bethel is Class 3A out of the Pierce County League.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 60, Wilbur-Creston 40

COULEE-CITY — Maguire Isaak exploded for 28 points and Almira/Coulee-Hartline beat Wilbur-Creston 60-40.

Payton Nielsen scored 10 points.

Connell 66, Othello 61

OTHELLO — Othello was outscored 21-6 in the third quarter and lost to Connell 66-61.

The Huskies led 36-30 at halftime.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 66, Springdale 51

SPRINGDALE — Lind-Ritzville/Sprague outscored Springdale 22-6 in the second quarter en route to a 66-51 win.

Easton Nelson and Bryce Kelly led the Broncos with 19 and 16 points, respectively.

Girls basketball

Connell 45, Othello 38

OTHELLO — Macy Hampton’s 20 points wasn’t enough as Othello fell to Connell in 45-38.

Rilee Heist and Alexis Coronado added four points each.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 66, Wilbur-Creston 9

COULEE CITY — Almira/Coulee-Hartline held Wilbur-Creston scoreless in the first half and won 66-9.

The Warriors led 41-0 at the break.

Gabi Isaak notched a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds and Sarah Bradshaw scored 15 points.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 55, Springdale 13

SPRINGDALE — Lind-Ritzville/Sprague did not allow more than four points in a quarter and beat Springdale handily 55-13.

Peyton Curtis scored 16 points to pace the Broncos.
