A homeowner on Crestview Drive reported when he came home from work the front door was unlocked and open, as was one of the bedroom windows.
Officers found a vehicle abandoned at East Wheeler Road and North Fig Street. The Dispatch Center said the vehicle was reported stolen the day prior.
A Chief Moses Middle School Student is believed to have stole a lunch bag and money from staff members. Charges to be filed.
A Third Avenue business reported they had several incidents with a neighbor believed to be putting trash and other miscellaneous items in their dumpster. The neighbor was contacted by police and told he needed to stop or the business was going to pursue charges for theft of services.
The reporting party said he and a subject were arguing when the subject allegedly lunged at him with both fists raised in the air. The subject was found a short time later and booked into Grant County Jail for vehicle prowl (second degree domestic violence), theft (third degree domestic violence) and violation of a protection order.
A woman said she didn’t receive a package she was expecting. FedEx confirmed the package of clothing was delivered on Dec. 14. The entire contents of the package was valued at $611.63. No suspects at this time.
A woman was observed on video stealing items from a clothing store on Pioneer Way. The store didn’t wish to pursue charges but wanted the woman not allowed back into the business.
A two-vehicle collision was reported at the stop sign of Burress and Broadway avenues. One driver was cited for following too closely and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
A dog’s death was reported as suspicious. No evidence was presented to say the dog was killed.
A retailer on North Stratford Road reported two juveniles pushed out two carts of toys worth over $1,000. The juveniles were identified and found at the high school. One juvenile admitted to the theft under Miranda. The other juvenile said the items were at her home but told the officer he would have to get a warrant. The officer was unable to find or reach the parents and applied for a search warrant.
A light blue semi reportedly left the Walgreens parking lot near Dutch Bros, drove over the curb and took out a traffic sign. Photos were taken of the damaged property. Officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.
A woman called dispatch and said she was receiving threatening phone calls. An officer wasn’t able to reach the woman, but spoke to a restaurant employee who explained the situation the best she could. There’s no suspect at this time.
Dec. 20
Police received a report of shots fired in the area of Stratford and Sagedale roads. A witness told an officer it happened at a gas station on Stratford Road. Four 9mm shell casings and a black folding knife were found near the air pump and propane tank.
Officers responded to the 2100 block of West Spruce Street for the report of suspicious people at the residence. The reporting party told officers two males in a large truck have been coming and going from the home. Officers conducted extra patrols of the area but did not find the vehicle at the residence.
