Moses Lake music students qualify for all-state performance

MOSES LAKE — Eight Moses Lake High School students will among the performers at the All-State band and choir concerts in mid-February.

Seven MLHS choir students and one band student will be among the performers. They included Jackson Aronsohn, Martin Skaug and Rachel Law in the symphonic choir, Carolin Bigwood in the alto choir and Kati Jolley, Grace Selman and Claire Smith in the jazz choir. Nick Carmack will be part of the percussion section of the all-state concert band.

Music department chair David Holloway said 2,090 high school students from around the state auditioned for seats in the band and choir, and 1,030 were selected.

Depending on the year, the concerts feature concert and jazz bands, chamber and symphony orchestras and symphonic, treble and jazz choirs. The all-state festival and concerts are scheduled for Feb 15-18 in Yakima.
