MOSES LAKE — After several months of only five members on the Moses Lake City Council, the council went back to full strength Tuesday night with the swearing-in of Mike Riggs and Daryl Jackson.
For a number of months the council was making decisions with only five members, as opposed to the normal seven-member council, after the abrupt resignations of Bill Ecret and Todd Voth. Ecret resigned from the council in July following a move outside of city limits, while Voth resigned the next month following personal attacks against himself, his family and his personal property.
Riggs, a retired educator, took down challenger Dean Hankins in the November general election. In a rare four-way general election contest Jackson, who is back in city government after previously serving eight years on the council, took down challengers Barry Lawson, Dana Borschowa and Peter Steffens in the general election.
Riggs will be serving in pPosition No. 1 on the council and Jackson will be serving in Position No. 4.
