Our nation needs faith in God

| December 14, 2017 2:00 AM

I sit here reluctantly writing what I know I must write. I am reluctant because much of what I have said in different discussions has been heard as criticism. I do not write to be critical but rather to bring correction. Through the years the enemy has planted seeds of false teachings that are growing and appearing to be truth.

Nearly five years ago our Lord called our community of believers to revival. Our nation has been in a state of apostasy, or turning away from faith, for many years and we are being called back to faith. Human faith has replaced the gift of faith we receive from God which produces righteousness. If his faith produces his righteousness, what kind of righteousness would self-faith produce? Faith reveals God’s will and through the knowledge of God’s will, we receive the assurance of hope and the conviction to do our part in carrying out his will.

There are many denominations and doctrines in the world today; many of these doctrines are based upon knowledge. Adam was warned not to eat of the Tree of Knowledge because it would bring death. We have been called to live by faith, the revealed knowledge of God’s will that is unique and personal to each individual. Let us set aside the denominational and doctrinal pride that has come upon us and seek to know God’s will in each of our lives. A personal relationship with the Father is much more valuable than all the knowledge the world has to offer.
