Richard Henry Schuller

Richard Henry Schuller passed away Dec. 1, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Community in Moses Lake, Wash. Richard was born at home in Tieton, Wash. to Nicholas Joseph and Louise (Mondor) Schuller on April 20, 1932. He spent most of his childhood in Tampico, Wash. and attended Yakima Senior High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. After returning home, he met Janet Ashbaugh during a dance at the Gay Chateau in Yakima. She must have been a good dancer as they were united in marriage on Nov. 12, 1955. Richard was employed in quality control by the Boeing Company for over 30 years. He traveled extensively worldwide for Boeing until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign War, the Elks Lodge, the Fraternaly Order of Eagles and The Moses Lake Walleye Club. He was an avid gardener. Friends and family were lucky to reap the benefits of his green thumb.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years; his children Brenda Schuller-Roberts (Brad Eddy) of Enumclaw, Wash., Richard “Scott” (Rhonda) Schuller of Arlington, Wash., Michael (Diana) Schuller of Centennial, Colo. and Catherine Schuller (Don Otis) of Sandpoint, Idaho; grandchildren Brett (Britt) Roberts, Amber (Jayson) Munson, Cortney (Dan) Forsythe, Henry Schuller, Margot Schuller, Nicholas (Lisa-Marie) Hadeen, Riley Hadeen and Sierra Schuller-Stoddard; step-grandchildren Sara (James) Aron, Andrew Cox and Benjamin Cox and great-grandchildren Bella and Brock Roberts, Alayna and Jameson Munson, Henry Lee Schuller, Liam Hadeen, Jacob, Elijah and Morgan Forsythe and Hannah and Wesley Aron. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Shirley Schuller of Warden, Wash. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Frank (Shirley), James (Janice – deceased) and Robert Schuller and his sister Louise (Robert -– deceased) White.

The family requests donations made to Assured Hospice, 1417 S. Pioneer Way, Moses Lake, Wash. or Saint Jude in Richard’s honor.

Richard requested that his ashes be interned at the Medical Lake Veterans Cemetery.

The family will have a celebration of Richards life in the spring of 2018.
