Trump's action on Jerusalem irresponsible
As an American born in Haifa-Palestine during the British Mandate, as a Palestinian who lived a childhood and teenage years in my Burin village 30 miles north of Jerusalem, as a medical student who led demonstrations in Granada, Spain, on June 6, 1967, on the occasion of my beloved city Jerusalem falling under Israeli occupation, graduating as an M.D. on the same day, 50 years ago.
As an active member of the Democratic Party in Washington State for the last 35 years, being at the present time a member of Democratic Central Committee representing Grant County as the committee man, I highly condemn this reckless act of President Trump regarding Jerusalem contrary to U.S. national interest. I call on my fellow citizens in the U.S. and on my brothers and sisters Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims to demonstrate against this irresponsible act.
I call for one state in Palestine which includes Israel, the West Bank and Gaza to establish a non-religious Democratic State where Muslims, Christians and Jews live together under one constitution with equal rights like we have in the U.S.
My county of Grant adopted such a resolution I introduced as a delegate four times at their conventions, in 1990, 2010, 2012 and 2016.
I call on the Palestinian authority to dissolve their government and hand out Israel to discharge their duty under the Geneva Convention in taking care of the Palestinian population.
