Ag Parade lacking in safety

When we attended the Friday night Christmas Parade, we were appalled at the danger to both the float drivers and the crowd. We were presidents of Spring Festival from 1983 through 1988, drove the float and were in charge of the food booths for years. In all of our experience, we have never attended a parade without any crowd control, which allowed the spectators to within 5 feet on both sides of a float under power. There were no police ever visible or any control of any kind.
