MOSES LAKE — A 4-year-old girl was reportedly returned home by Moses Lake police on Monday after she was spotted walking alone in a residential neighborhood.

Monday afternoon Moses Lake police officers responded to the area of East Hill Avenue and South Division Street after receiving several reports of an unattended child walking in the area. Officers reportedly located the child, a 4-year-old girl, walking alone in the area.

The MLPD says the girl was in the care of a non-family member and wandered off. Police contacted the girl’s family members and returned the child safely. The MLPD and Child Protective Services are investigating how the girl was left unattended.

“We would like to thank the concerned people who took the time to report the girl walking by herself on a busy street. We depend on people calling us when they notice something that is not right. The few minutes the phone call takes out of your day may prevent a tragedy,” stated the MLPD.
