MOSES LAKE — The Salvation Army is looking for a few good men — and women, and even high school students — to ring bells and raise money this Christmas season.

“We’re looking for individuals and groups that are willing to take a two-hour shift anytime from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday,” said Andrea Carrillo, social services director with the Salvation Army in Moses Lake.

The Army needs volunteers to ring bells at Walmart, Safeway, the post office and at the Lep-Re-Kon Harvest Foods in Moses Lake and the Walmart and Safeway in Ephrata. Volunteers are needed through Dec. 23.

“How many volunteers do we need? In a perfect world, If we can get 18 per day, that would cover it,” Carillo said.

The money raised by bell ringers allows the Salvation Army to help stock food pantries, provide emergency assistance, and care for neighbors in need.

Volunteers must be 18 unless they are members of a group, such as a club, church or civic group.

“The Key Club at Moses Lake High School provides us a lot of volunteers,” Carillo said.

Anyone interested in volunteering can call the Salvation Army at 509-766-5875.
