| December 1, 2017 2:00 AM

WENATCHEE — Kathleen Allstot, Ephrata, has been appointed to a seat on the North Central Regional Library board. Allstot replaces Deborah Moore, who resigned in October.

Allstot was appointed by the Grant County Commissioners. She was appointed to a seven-year term and will finish Moore’s term.

Allstot is a former teacher and librarian, teaching in the Oroville and Ephrata school districts before retiring in 2014. She was the Ephrata High School librarian for 14 years. She's also a member of the Ephrata City Council, and has been on the council for 14 years.

The library district includes Grant, Okanogan, Douglas, Chelan and Ferry counties, with 30 library branches and bookmobile outreach. The board of trustees is the oversight agency for the district’s budget, manages its executive director and sets district policy.
