The Course of the Mighty Columbia

| August 30, 2017 1:00 AM

Ice Age Floods Institute educator Lloyd Stoess presents “How the Ice Age Floods Changed the Course of the Columbia River,” a free community lecture, on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Sunset Theatre, located at 102 N. Columbia Ave. in Connell.

The public is invited for this fascinating look into the Missoula Floods and the changing course of the mighty Columbia River in eastern Washington before and during the last ice age. The event is the pre-lecture for the Palouse Falls Chapter’s Saddle Mountain bus tour, which takes place Saturday, Oct. 7. The two events supplement each other. The Sunset Theatre is next door to the Connell library. Entry is free; first come, first seated.
