Mary Ellen Byrd (Grimes-Kinamon)

April 9, 1947 – August 23, 2017

Mary Ellen was born on April 9, 1947 to Pete and Mildred Grimes of Cashmere. She lived in Cashmere with her sister, Ina and brother Dan. Later in life she also helped raise her two younger siblings Nathan and Jane Tilton.

She grew up and married Curtis Kinamon and they had one daughter Tracy Gallaway (Kinamon) of Moses Lake. Later in life she married James Byrd, of Wenatchee, and they had one son, Zachary Byrd of Wenatchee.

Mary was a strong-willed woman who loved her family. She loved to dance and laugh, and lived her life to the fullest. She was taken to heaven on Aug. 23, 2017. She will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know her.

A potluck Memorial Service will be held on Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Riverside Community Center and Boy Scout Hall 201 Riverside Dr., Cashmere, Wash. Bring your favorite dish and favorite memory to share.
