Is it OK to have questions about God?
Everyone has questions about God. Some people worry that voicing their questions will anger or offend God. Nothing could be further from the truth. God created us with intelligence and reasoning ability. When it comes to questions about faith, God doesn’t ask us to check our brains at the door.
In fact, 1 Thessalonians 5:21 says, “Test everything. Hold on to the good.” Not only will God not get angry when we ask the hard questions, but he welcomes them. It is when we begin to discover truths such as an all powerful, eternal God has to exist in order for this finite and decaying universe to come into existence, that this powerful God has revealed himself to us through letters we call the Bible, and that Jesus Christ is God in human flesh who showed us the power and love of God by dying upon a cross for us and rising again from the dead. As a result, we go through a shift in thinking which in turn causes a major shift in behavior. It is these shifts in thinking and behavior that begin to change families, churches, communities, and nations into the image God originally created us for.
There are many local churches available to help you understand the reality of a powerful and loving God that has given up more than you could imagine so that you could be with him in heaven forever. Service times can be found in the calender below. In the meantime, continue to explore the amazing book we call the Bible, ask the hard questions of life, and watch God continue to change your thinking, behavior, and life.
