Free access to Washington parks on Friday

| August 24, 2017 1:00 AM

OLYMPIA — If you have ever wanted to visit one of Washington’s parks, but don’t necessarily want to pay for a Discover Pass or day-use permit, then you might want to clear your schedule on Friday.

In celebration of the National Park System’s 101st birthday, the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is waiving the entrance free to state parks on Friday. Day-use visitors will not be required to have a Discover Pass, which costs $30 annually, or purchase a one-day permit, which costs $10.
