Good yield
Several farmers in the Othello district have finished harvesting and report yields of 16 to 20 bushels per acre on spring grain and 22 to 35 for winter grain. J.L. Fox has about 45,000 bushels in his warehouse off one and three quarters sections, some of it on land that has not been farmed in more than 20 years.
Rain delays harvesting
Rain the fore part of the week delayed wheat harvest for a few days. It is estimated that nearly ninety percent of wheat in the area is cut. The yield is way above average with storage facilities inadequate.
Chamber meets
The Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce met Wednesday evening of this week and made final arrangements for staging the big Water Carnival and boat races on Aug. 24. Fourteen members were present. Various important subjects were discussed among them being a city park, sidewalks, etc.
