| August 2, 2017 3:00 AM

MOSES LAKE — A Warden woman was injured in a collision near Moses Lake early Monday morning.

About 10 a.m. Friederike Jones, 81, of Warden, was traveling north on state Route 17, about six miles south of Moses Lake, at a high rate of speed and reportedly failed to stop for traffic in a construction zone. Jones reportedly collided with a 2016 Honda Accord driven by Jon Gunter, 41, of Richland, who had stopped for traffic. The Sebring came to a rest blocking the northbound SR-17 lane and the Accord came to a rest in a ditch, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Jones was injured and transported to Samaritan Hospital by ambulance for treatment. Gunter was not injured. Both of the vehicles sustained reportable damages and were impounded. The patrol reports Jones was cited for speeding too fast.
