Todd Voth narrows gap in Moses Lake race

EPHRATA — Wednesday’s ballot count had Moses Lake Mayor Todd Voth inching closer to the top two in the race for Moses Lake City Council Position No. 1. He is now 45 votes behind Mike Riggs, who currently holds the number one spot, and nine votes behind contender Dean Hankins.

The Grant County Auditor’s Office states the next scheduled ballot count is Aug. 15, which is the same date Tuesday night’s primary election results are set to be certified. Out of the 25,384 registered voters in Grant County, a total of 6,201 ballots have been counted, which puts the voter turnout, so far, at 24.43 percent.

Results from Wednesday’s ballot count are as follows:

Moses Lake School District Director No. 4

Elliot Goodrich: 1,615 votes, 37.9 percent.

Kevin J. Donovan: 1,865 votes, 43.77 percent.

James Liebrecht: 781 votes, 18.33 percent.

Wilson Creek School District Director No. 5

Ron Lesser: 59 votes, 42.75 percent.

Lane Ribail: 42 votes, 30.43 percent.

Teresa (Teri) Garay: 37 votes, 26.81 percent.

Grant County Fire District No. 10 Proposition No. 1

Approved: 135 votes, 58.19 percent.

Rejected: 97 votes, 41.81 percent.

Grant County Fire District No. 10 Proposition No. 2

Yes: 161 votes, 69.1 percent.

No: 72 votes, 30.9 percent.

Grant County Fire District No. 11 Proposition No. 1

Approved: 169 votes, 62.59 percent.

Rejected: 101 votes, 37.41 percent.

Grant County Fire District No. 11 Proposition No. 2

Yes: 198 votes, 72.26 percent.

No: 76 votes, 27.74 percent.

Moses Lake City Council Position No. 1

Dean Hankins: 749 votes, 32.94 percent.

Todd Voth: 740 votes, 32.54 percent.

Michael Riggs: 785 votes, 34.52 percent.

Quincy Mayor

Scott B. Lybbert: 352 votes, 39.33 percent.

Ricardo Ruesga: 89 votes, 9.94 percent.

Ricardo (Ric) Garces: 154 votes, 17.21 percent.

Paul D. Worley: 300 votes, 33.52 percent.

Soap Lake City Council Position No. 4

Robert L. Brown: 90 votes, 36.29 percent.

Judith E. Gorman: 69 votes, 27.82 percent.

Debra Parmeter Still: 89 votes, 35.89 percent.
