Othello freshman Patrick Azevedo shoots 77 at Gamble Sands

BREWSTER — The CWAC boys threw their best into what Gamble Sands Golf Course has to offer, but it was stiff competition against a solid field and a tremendous golf course.

Patrick Azevedo led Othello with a 5-over-par 77, but the Huskies were never in the hunt for a team championship.

Othello (338), Ephrata (348) and Quincy (367) were all in the middle of the pack.

Ben Garza (81), Isaiah Garza (85) and Sam Azevedo (95) helped the Huskies to a season low score of 338, taking on the challenges of Gamble Sands, which was designed by David McLay Kidd, a well-known Scottish-born designer best known for doing the original course at Bandon Dunes on the Oregon Coast.
