Man dies in collision near Marlin

MARLIN — A Wilson Creek man died Tuesday afternoon after his truck plunged down a 200-foot cliff near Marlin.

About 3 p.m. Benjamin McAfee, 34, of Wilson Creek, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck east on Road 22 Northeast, about 1.5 miles north of state Route 28, when his truck reportedly left the road to the north. The truck went down a 200-foot cliff and McAfee was ejected out of the vehicle and died at the scene, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

McAfee was discovered by responders with Grant County Fire Districts 5 and 12. McAfee’s body is in the care of the Grant County Coroner’s Office, where an autopsy will be performed.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office Motor Traffic unit is investigating the collision.
