2 injured in collision near Ephrata

EPHRATA — Two people were injured in a four-vehicle collision near Ephrata Wednesday afternoon.
About 4:25 p.m. Jaime Barradas, 40, of Quincy, pulled out of Santa Marie Produce, about six miles of west of Ephrata, onto state Route 28 in a 2002 GMC Yukon. Barradas reportedly struck a 2004 Chevrolet Classic driven by Dorris Schenck, 58, of Quincy, and a 2008 Ford Escape driven by Mark Niehenke, 62, of Ephrata. The Escape then reportedly struck an Ephrata School District bus driven by Bonnie Balciar, 56, of Ephrata, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Schenck and Niehenke were injured and transported to Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata for treatment. The patrol reports Barradas was cited for failure to yield.
