Democracy or theocracy?

Do we live in a democracy or a theocracy? As I consider this question I realize some live in neither, some live in just one and others live in both. In some countries there is one leader all people are subject to. Other countries have a combination of sorts to govern the people. America has a democratic form of government that seems to have shifted from the people to the government in recent years. We still have the freedom of assembly but it seems only the loudest are being heard. The democratic form of government has three separate branches. Each branch should have checks and balances in order that no one branch has all the authority and should work in unity to preserve the integrity of all. It seems like in the past few years the judicial branch has gained authority over the other branches; however, the past two or three years the executive branch exerted its authority over the others.

Democracy is said to be the best form of government if it is applied in the way it was designed. It gives the appearance of a triune form of governing the people, the same form as a theocracy. A theocracy consists of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Whether we realize or even agree we do live in a theocracy under the authority of God the Creator of the universe. If we are going to survive and thrive as nation we must get back to seeking his will in our individual lives and the lives of our national leaders. May God bless us all.
