Put party politics aside and confirm Gorsuch
I am saddened and troubled by Senator Charles Schumer’s diatribe against Judge Neil Gorsuch for a seat on the U. S. Supreme Court.
Judge Gorsuch, a good and honorable man, is by every measure, more than qualified to be a Supreme Court justice. Judge Gorsuch was approved for a seat on the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals by a unanimous vote, including that of Sen. Schumer.
I must assume that Sen. Schumer’s opposition to Judge Gorsuch is based on the Senator’s need to curry favor with his party’s base and to punish the opposition party for failure to bring Judge Merrick Garland up for a vote. Sen. Schumer’s decision to put party politics ahead of Judge Gorsuch’s outstanding qualifications, does the nation and the people he represents a great disservice.
