Robert D. Roach, 74, a resident of Moses Lake passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Monroe House. Viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., Friday, April 7, 2017 at Kayser’s Chapel. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 7 at Guarding Angels Cemetery, 2595 Road L NE, Moses Lake. Robert was born June 28, 1942 in Clarinda, Iowa, son of Robert and Ruth (Farrens) Roach. He joined the United States Army on Jan. 4, 1963 and spent some time in Germany before his honorable discharge Dec. 31, 1968. Robert farmed for many years and during winters he worked for U&I Sugar. After retiring from farming, he went to work for G&O Trucking.

Reading was his passion and he also enjoyed collecting old cars. He always looked forward to visiting with friends at the coffee shop, especially Bob’s Cafe.

Survivors include his sisters Patricia (Norman) Getzinger and Joyce Blundell and by nieces and nephews John Getzinger, Michael Getzinger, James Getzinger, Damon Blundell, Derrick Blundell, Robert Morris, Christopher Morris and Melissa Nimmo. Besides his parents, Robert and Ruth Roach, Robert was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Morris.
