EAST WENATCHEE — Moses Lake stayed patient and picked up its first win of the season against Eastmont 4-1.

Eastmont committed five errors and Moses Lake scored three runs in the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie.

“They had some miscues that helped us apply some pressure,” head coach Quintz Whitaker said.

Cody Goodwin drove in one run in the first inning before Eastmont tied the game in the third. Jared Garland hit a single that scored Thomas Murphy.

From that point, Moses Lake (1-3, 1-5) starter Austin Valdez and Eastmont’s Hunter Brawley dueled until the fifth inning. Ezekyel Ochoa and Cain Valdez pitched one inning of scoreless relief each.

In the seventh, Bailey Sanchez reached on an error and came all the way around to score. Another run was scored on a fielder’s choice and Dominic Signorelli drive in the final run with a single.

“We’ve been really working on being even productive with our outs,” Whitaker said.

Moses Lake hosts Eastmont in a doubleheader on Friday to finish the season series.

PATEROS — Cameron Bessett hit a two-run homer and Soap Lake routed Pateros 13-2 in five innings.

“Our bats are starting to come around,” head coach Austin Chamberlin. “Now they’re actually playing a complete game.”

Lex Piedra, Jackson Gray and Brayden Winters all drove in two runs each.

Soap Lake (6-0) travels to Brewster on Friday — a doubleheader between the top two teams in the Central Washington 2B league.

“That will be the biggest measuring stick for us,” Chamberlin said.
