New voter registrations set to close Oct. 10

| September 28, 2016 1:00 AM

RITZVILLE – Adams County Auditor Heidi Hunt reminds citizens that Oct. 10 is the deadline for mail and online new registrations and voter updates prior to the Nov. 8 general election.

After Oct. 10, Hunt said, voter registration closes to transfers and address changes within Washington state until after Nov. 8.

Hunt said a person can register online at www.vote.wa.gov or in person at the Adams County Auditor’s Office at 210 W. Broadway Ave, Ritzville Washington. Voters can also make address changes online or in person.

State law permits persons to register to vote through Oct. 31, provided they are new registrants to the State of Washington. Persons so registering must register in person at the office of the Adams County Auditor, in the Adams County Courthouse, Ritzville.

Only voters not already registered in the State of Washington may register during this period. (RCW 29A.08.140)

The Adams County Auditor’s Office is open Monday – Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Anyone with questions is encouraged to call Heidi.
