Teen injured in 2-car collision

OTHELLO – A teen-aged Othello woman was injured in a two-car collision half a mile south of Moses Lake on Highway 17 on Sept. 17.
According to the Washington State Patrol, Erika M. Veenstra, 19, of Othello was southbound on 17 near a park & ride lot when another driver failed to give right of way.
Veenstra’s silver 1998 Nissan 2SX was struck by a white 2014 Nissan Altima. She was taken by ambulance to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.
The Altima, driven y Jeremy L. Lopez, 35, of Moses Lake, was leaving the park & ride. He was not injured. Neither was a passenger in his car, Max Reyes, 18, of Moses Lake.
Lopez, whose vehicle struck the 2SX on the right front, was cited for negligent driving by the WSP.
