God will show you when to lead

| September 25, 2016 6:00 AM

Sometimes our best opportunities to lead someone to Christ happen in strange and unusual places, and we need to be ready.

First of all, you need to have really good understanding of who Jesus is yourself before you can help others find their way.

Jesus is our Savior. He came to earth to die on the cross as the one and only perfect sacrifice for our sins. Through Him, we can come to God.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the word to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

Because of Jesus, our debts for sin have been paid in full and God will never bring them up again. He brings complete forgiveness.

Secondly, Jesus gave us teachings to follow so that we might become Christians and remain Christians.

And lastly, after dying on the cross, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day. Because of his resurrection, we too have eternal life with God.

Charles W. Keysor says it like this: “Jesus came to teach us, died to save us from hell, and rose to make real our confidence in the life everlasting … a life that begins when he becomes your Savior.”

But knowing who Jesus is isn’t the only thing you need to know to lead another person to Christ. You need to be aware of what Jesus promises.

Jesus promises us peace and understanding of what it means to be a Christian. He also creates in us a perfect love that will enable us to meet God’s expectations.

He promises us rest when we are too weary to go on, and He promises us the strength to do His work and take his salvation to others.

We don’t have to look for special moments or try to create them ourselves. God will show us what to do and when to do it. You just have to be willing to follow his lead.

Our only job is to believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths that Jesus Christ is Lord.

In other words … know what you believe and be ready at any moment to share. The blessings you receive will astound you.
