Annual Superintendent's Revenge golf on tap

| September 24, 2016 6:00 AM

ROYAL CITY – The annual Superintendent’s Revenge, the wackiest golf tournament you’ll ever play, is set for Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Royal Golf Course at Dobson Road and Highway 26.

Also called the Big Cups Tournament, Superintendent’s Revenge appears to be easy at first. Only the worst putter in the world can miss an 8-inch cup.

That’s where the golf course superintendent’s maliciousness steps in. Your putt may have to go over an old car muffler or around old kitchen appliance.

The same can be true on the fairways. You have no idea the obstacles you may encounter.

“It’s a fun way to end the season,” Superintendent Shawn Vetterick said.

The entry fee will be $160 per 4-person team. Riding cart rentals will be extra. There will be payouts for the top three teams.

Hamburgers, hot dogs and chips will be available.
