Richard Stevens is a proven leader

| September 15, 2016 1:45 PM

We live in difficult times when it seems that many of our elected officials cannot be trusted and often let us down. Richard Stevens is one guy who has served us well here in Grant County and has not let us down, but who is this guy?

Richard grew up in Wilson Creek and graduated from high school there. He graduated from BBCC with an AA degree and later Eastern Washington State University with a BA degree. He understands the problems, needs, and issues of rural farming America having been a farmer in the Wilson Creek/Stratford area for 42 years.

For the past 12 years he has served us well as the Grant County District 1 Commissioner. During that time, he worked with the other two commissioners to upgrade the Grant County Fairgrounds in 2007-08 and has been directly involved with rebuilding county reserves so that we are on a solid financial foundation.

If you have had business lately at the courthouse in Ephrata, you have probably noticed the restoration/renovation work going on in our historic courthouse. This important project has been a work of love for Richard and the other commissioners and is vital to Grant County success and prosperity for the next, hopefully, 50 years.

I urge all of my fellow residents of Grant County to vote for Richard Stevens for Commissioner District No. 1. Without question, he is the most qualified person for the job.
