Wilson Creek man killed after running onto highway

MOSES LAKE — A Wilson Creek man was reportedly struck and killed by a vehicle after he ran onto state Route 17 near Moses Lake late Tuesday night.

About 8:25 p.m. a 17-year-old girl was driving a 1997 Jeep Cherokee north on SR-17, about two miles south of Moses Lake, when Blake Hellmann, 21, of Wilson Creek, ran into the road in front of her vehicle. Hellmann was reportedly struck by the Jeep and died at the scene, according to the Washington State Patrol.

 
The girl did not receive any injuries and her vehicle was able to be driven from the scene. The patrol is still investigating the accident. No citations have been issued.
