Longtime Moses Lake resident and artist Valine B. Savage passed away on Sept. 8, 2016 in Nampa, Idaho at the age of 94.

Valine was born in Heyburn, Idaho on March 22, 1922 to Milton and Lydia Bair, the third child and oldest daughter of eight children. She married Arthur Henry Hansen in the Logan, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1941. Arthur was killed in a farm accident in 1950, leaving her a widow with four small children. Two years later she married Erwin (Red) Savage. Together they had two children. Red passed away in 1970 and again Valine found herself a widow, with two children still living at home.

Valine was a creative person enjoying painting, quilting, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Valine had a quick wit and sense of humor that endeared her to all she met.

Valine leaves behind a posterity of over 200 including her children Veral Hansen (Michael Jean), Mattawa, Wash.; Wanda Green (Lanny), Meridian, Idaho; Sharon Bushman Brown (Joel), Caldwell, Idaho; Mary Ann Hebdon (Dennis), Mattawa, Wash.; Beth Savage (deceased) and Lee Savage (Gloria), Moses Lake.

Valine was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and leaves behind a great legacy of service and faith in Jesus Christ.

A memorial service will be held for Valine in Nampa, Idaho. She will be laid to rest next to Arthur at the Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn, Idaho.
