Carla Deshaw, 83, passed away on Aug. 26, 2016 at Lakeview Home Care, Moses Lake with her daughter by her side.

She was born Oct. 4, 1932 in Soap Lake to Carl and Lavern Harvill. She grew up and attended school in Ephrata, graduating in 1950. Carla had the honor of riding on the float that year as Ephrata Royalty.

She met and married her first husband Allan Eckhart and they had their first daughter Cheryl in 1952, followed by their second daughter Meralee in 1957. In 1965 Carla married her second husband, Frank Deshaw. Carla and Frank enjoyed snowmobiling in the winter and then loading up the fifth-wheel trailer to travel to different golf courses where Frank would golf and she would work on her quilting. Mom loved to sew for her family and friends even if it was just doing mending.

Carla is survived by her husband Frank of 51 years, her daughters, Cheryl (Mike) Ferguson of Moses Lake and Meralee (Mark) Ferguson of Quincy, as well as five grandkids Jessica, Lanny, Josey, Drew and Hannah and 11 great-grandkids. She is also survived by one brother, Denny Harvill of Arizona and one sister, Enid Baker of Concrete, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her brother Ronald “Pete” Harvill and one grandson.

We would like to thank Penny Weber and her staff at Lakeview Home Care for the outstanding care and love that they all gave our mom.

Enjoy that huge fabric store in heaven mom and quilt, quilt, quilt!

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at the Pioneer Church, 415 F Street SW, Quincy, Wash.
