Silver Sage Design Studio's move is a breath of fresh air
MOSES LAKE — There is a change in the wind for Silver Sage Design Studio. After 27 years at its current location on West Third Avenue, the local design studio is setting up shop at 606 W. Broadway Ave.
It’s not necessarily about need for more space as it a change of pace owner Lenae Haugen said.
“I’m excited to be next to the brewery and JJ Photography. I just think that’s a good little trifecta in this building,” said Haugen, who co-owns the business with Urban Masset. “There’s more visibility and a lot of light in the building, which is great. I’m excited about the rejuvenation, to bring some fresh light into my business and my creative skills.”
The soft opening is planned for Sept. 19 and the grand opening sometime around the first week of October.
Silver Sage Design Studio is a fashion boutique and a full service design studio that focuses on creating environments with personality and sophisticated comfort. Silver Sage has everything from wardrobe to home, including apparel, accessories, décor, and home furnishings to add style to any surroundings.
“My job as a designer is to make their dreams come true,” Haugen said. “I want them to cry when the walk in and see (what I’ve come up with), and know that’s their home.”
The new location is giving Haugen and Masset a chance to put those creative skills to use with the redesign of the 1,300-square foot building on West Broadway. They are using a blend of rustic, sophistication with the new interior.
“We’re using vintage barnwood from a barn in Issaquah over on the coast,” she said. “The wood has some history for us, because that’s where we’re from. I think it’s important to include that history in a fresh start.”
Silver Sage Design Studio expanded in 2010 from interior design to include clothing, apparel, and handmade jewelry.
“It just blends better into what we’re calling a lifestyle store,” Haugen said. “You can buy everything for your house to your body. The word lifestyle keeps coming back. It’s about being authentic to who you are to what you wear to how you decorate house.”
The jewelry involves a number of different styles ranging from yak bone beads with Tibetan silver bracelets to American Bison bone bead bracelets. They also have tusk necklaces and handmade bronze pieces.
“It’s a little more rustic instead of silver,” Haugen said. “It’s a little bit more personal.”
The move to Broadway is a fresh new start for a business that’s been in Moses Lake for nearly three decades. It’s a lifestyle place that gives its customers a new look and lifestyle change.
